Visit from Missouri

Adam, Holly, Mitchell and Jack are spending some time in Meridian for a few days so friday we went to Meridian after Josh got off work. When we were just getting into town we saw a jet fly over the interstate really low right in front of us and I thought it was pretty cool and then Josh said..."hey! that was Adam!" so we pulled off at the next exit and went to the airport to watch him land with the rest of the Roberts and Holly's family. :) (so we got to unexpectedly spend a little time with them early...we had planned to see them today) THEN today we ate lunch with them at Ms. Belinda's house and just visited. I absolutely love to watch Grace play with Jack. He is the closest to her age that I have seen her play with and they are pretty much doing the same things! I am so glad that I actually remembered to bring my camera this time! (I seem to always forget it when they come down)

and... they're off!

both trying to get on the treadmill

Grace crashed...Jack was pretty good at climbing

I wish I had a picture of this but Josh said that he looked down the hall at one point and saw Jack and Grace sitting side by side in the music room watching Mitchell play the piano. :)

On a side note...Grace blew a big bubble from her nose today. Pretty funny.

I think it's time for a baby gate. :)

Today we had a spill in the kitchen so I put some toys in the den for Grace to play with while I swept and mopped. We don't have a baby gate (yet) so I used kitchen chairs to keep Grace barricaded in the den....She tried every angle she could to get into the kitchen...pretty funny...so I took pictures. of course. :)
First she tried the chair on the right...

..working so hard..

hah!

Then I put her back in the den and she tried the middle chair..

"huh?! These chairs are here to keep me out??"

This try was probably the funniest though..I was mopping around a corner in the kitchen and when I came back around all I could see was her little hand reeaaching around the corner trying to squeeze through but by the time I got the camera she was already this far.

and then, thankfully, she decided to give playing with her toys a try..

Exploring the Jackson area..

It is so great to have our family back together!! We spent yesterday running some errands and just relaxing. (Josh gets every other Friday off work and luckily when he came home fell on the Friday that he gets off!) Today we had planned to get up and go to the zoo in the morning but when we got there it was very crowded! I know I counted at least 3 radio station vans and tons of other cars..it turns out they were having an "ice cream safari" where you get to try tons of ice cream and vote on them. Which if you know us very well....that sounds awesome!! BUT another thing about us is that we aren't all that fond of big crowds. So....we left. We will just have to save the zoo for another day. We decided to go, instead, to the Mississippi Petrified Forest in Flora! (near Pocohontas, MS (; ) It was a pretty nice place..after you pay to walk the half mile trail they give you a little paper book that talks about different stops along the trail. What made the trip even more fun was that when we first got in we saw a calico cat...and it was sweet...so we pet it and even carried it along part of the trail. It followed us pretty much the whole way around and Grace almost crawled out of her stroller to look at it! Every now and then she would get super excited about it. :)

My camera lens kept getting fogged up..
See that black thing by Josh's arm?? That's the cat's tail...and don't let him make you believe he didn't like it either.. I think he just likes the thought of "not liking cats". ;)

Josh is on his way Home!!

On the Saturday before the 4th we went to Meridian so that Mom and I could work on some crafts together...birthday party stuff for Grace and Baby Shower stuff for Megan and Dylan! Well on Saturday Josh got a call from work and said that they were sending a group of guys to Kentucky (in two hours!!) for the storm that hit up there. So I packed up his stuff and he left right away. They told him to pack for a week..but having lived with Dad, and knowing kind of how this went, I knew that just because they said to pack for a week that didn't mean that he would be gone for 1 week. He could have been gone for a few days or a few weeks. I didn't know anything about the storm so I was pretty clueless about the whole thing. While they were there they had, I know, at least a couple of storms come through and knock out some of the power they had just restored so that held them up a bit..but now he is on his way home and should be here tomorrow some time!! I am so so excited! We have missed him a lot but have been able to spend a good bit of time with familly while he was gone. :)

Grace talking to Jack :)

Mom brought me back to Clinton (since we still only have one car) on Sunday night and we were able to spend some time with Jake and Carrie and two other friends that night, Monday Grace and I went to Samuel's 4th birthday party at a splashpad. Grace had never been to a birthday party or a splashpad before so that was fun. She wasn't so sure about the water but when it was time to eat she had a blast! I brought her a baked potato because they were having pizza and she had never had that before so I thought I should be prepared just in case....well...she ate half of the baked potato and we found out that it wasn't needed. I decided to let her try the pizza and after that she ate almost the whole thing (didn't care too much for her potato after that) plus part of a cupcake and some ice cream! We went back to Meridian Tuesday night and we were able to spend the 4th with family at my Aunt Lori and Uncle Tim's. Thursday we woke up early and went to Nana's so that we could take a trip to New Albany to visit Granny, Uncle Adam, Aunt Holly, Mitchell and Jack! (Her Aunt, Uncle and cousins live in Missouri so we don't get to see them very much) Saturday we got to spend some time with cousins and uncles at my Mamaw's house! Me, Mom and Grace came back to Clinton on Sunday night and Dad came Monday morning after his safety meeting at work (Bubba strikes again!) to help with the lawn work. I know...I am 22 years old and I'm still not comfortable doing it on my own. I can cut I just didn't know exactly all that needed to be done. I guess that's what happens when you grow up with 2 older brothers. I usually helped Mom inside while they helped Dad outside. Mom and Dad left yesterday and so it's just me and Grace until Josh gets home! Have I mentioned that I am excited?!?

I think Josh will be pleasantly surprised when he gets home to see what all Grace has learned! She is getting much more confident on her feet (and knees!) and she had learned to wave "bye bye" a few weeks ago but she only did it for a week and wouldn't do it anymore. Well...now she is doing it again and on her own! (when she did it before we would hold her arm up and she would wave) She has also learned to clap on her own. He saw that she liked to make everyone else clap by grabbing their hands and clapping them together but she would never do it on her own. I guess since she learned them pretty much at the same time, she gets them confused sometimes..like when I wave she will clap. She is best at clapping anyway.
