On the Saturday before the 4th we went to Meridian so that Mom and I could work on some crafts together...birthday party stuff for Grace and Baby Shower stuff for Megan and Dylan! Well on Saturday Josh got a call from work and said that they were sending a group of guys to Kentucky (in two hours!!) for the storm that hit up there. So I packed up his stuff and he left right away. They told him to pack for a week..but having lived with Dad, and knowing kind of how this went, I knew that just because they said to pack for a week that didn't mean that he would be gone for 1 week. He could have been gone for a few days or a few weeks. I didn't know anything about the storm so I was pretty clueless about the whole thing. While they were there they had, I know, at least a couple of storms come through and knock out some of the power they had just restored so that held them up a bit..but now he is on his way home and should be here tomorrow some time!! I am so so excited! We have missed him a lot but have been able to spend a good bit of time with familly while he was gone. :)

| Grace talking to Jack :) |

Mom brought me back to Clinton (since we still only have one car) on Sunday night and we were able to spend some time with Jake and Carrie and two other friends that night, Monday Grace and I went to Samuel's 4th birthday party at a splashpad. Grace had never been to a birthday party or a splashpad before so that was fun. She wasn't so sure about the water but when it was time to eat she had a blast! I brought her a baked potato because they were having pizza and she had never had that before so I thought I should be prepared just in case....well...she ate half of the baked potato and we found out that it wasn't needed. I decided to let her try the pizza and after that she ate almost the whole thing (didn't care too much for her potato after that) plus part of a cupcake and some ice cream! We went back to Meridian Tuesday night and we were able to spend the 4th with family at my Aunt Lori and Uncle Tim's. Thursday we woke up early and went to Nana's so that we could take a trip to New Albany to visit Granny, Uncle Adam, Aunt Holly, Mitchell and Jack! (Her Aunt, Uncle and cousins live in Missouri so we don't get to see them very much) Saturday we got to spend some time with cousins and uncles at my Mamaw's house! Me, Mom and Grace came back to Clinton on Sunday night and Dad came Monday morning after his safety meeting at work (Bubba strikes again!) to help with the lawn work. I know...I am 22 years old and I'm still not comfortable doing it on my own. I can cut I just didn't know exactly all that needed to be done. I guess that's what happens when you grow up with 2 older brothers. I usually helped Mom inside while they helped Dad outside. Mom and Dad left yesterday and so it's just me and Grace until Josh gets home! Have I mentioned that I am excited?!?
I think Josh will be pleasantly surprised when he gets home to see what all Grace has learned! She is getting much more confident on her feet (and knees!) and she had learned to wave "bye bye" a few weeks ago but she only did it for a week and wouldn't do it anymore. Well...now she is doing it again and on her own! (when she did it before we would hold her arm up and she would wave) She has also learned to clap on her own. He saw that she liked to make everyone else clap by grabbing their hands and clapping them together but she would never do it on her own. I guess since she learned them pretty much at the same time, she gets them confused sometimes..like when I wave she will clap. She is best at clapping anyway.
