Saturday and Sunday

We went to the Cotton District Art Festival this weekend...we didn't get anything but it was pretty neat! (and crowded) We dressed Grace in her MS State dress that I made her..ok, off the subject somewhat but a little old lady stopped us to talk to Grace while we were there (this happens all the time) and asked if she had been in the pet parade (?!?!?) We all laughed but the Gwinns left a little confused as to why she would think Grace had been in the pet parade. haha I think I just got it! The dress that she was wearing had maroon paw prints on it! Ah ha! Maybe that's it? (just to make it clear...we were not offended in any way by the sweet little lady asking if Grace had been in the parade....even if it was for dogs. ;) )

Grace's teeth have been hurting her a good bit the past couple of days...she had a tough time Saturday afternoon..so much so that Josh left to go to two different stores to find Orajel since we couldn't find ours here. Then on Sunday we got paged from the nursery for the first time. When I got there they told me that she had been crying a good bit and they could tell that she was sleepy so they laid her down..and she would lay there for a little bit but then she would all of the sudden scream/cry. Poor girl. :( I stayed with her for a little bit to make sure it was her teeth, gave her some Tylenol and laid her back down in a bed in the nursery with her blanket and Monkey :) (she was so so sleepy) and went back to church after I watched her for a little bit to make sure she was ok. When I came back to get her the nursery workers said that she had been great ever since I left. :) AND when we picked her up from the nursery that night they said she was perfect and said we could leave her there for a few more hours and they would babysit. ;)  Sweet, sweet girl. I was so proud of her! We told Maggie when we got home how good Grace had been and Maggie gave her lots of kisses...which made Grace smile.

I have certainly been blessed with my little family. :)

I think I birthed a roly poly

On Sunday Josh and I noticed that Grace has gotten really good at rolling over. We had just finished watching a movie and went upstairs to check on Grace/ get ready for bed and Josh noticed that Grace was sleeping on her tummy. (this scared him because she had something in really close to her face) So we rolled her over and I think she ended up going back to sleep on her side. In the morning I woke up (at 6:30!) to her scratching on her bed (which is louder than you might expect) while playing on her tummy. Ever since then she has gotten better and better at rolling over and has recently decided that she doesn't have to nap when I lay her down because she can just roll over and play instead! Needless to say...our nap schedule went out the wazoo!  I lay her down like before and she may or may not sleep while she is there. She is very happy most of the time though. She is laying in her pack n play now...finally asleep! :) WooHoo!
I have been working with her to roll over for quite a while and now I have gotten what I asked for. ;) I know it sounds like I think it's a bad thing but I really love it....as long as she is happy and still sleeping through the night...which she is. Josh and I would be willing to bet that we have a Gracie on the Move by the time we move to Clinton. (how cute...she is waiting to "move" until we "move". :/ Wow.....cheesy.)
Speaking of moving...we will now be closing on our house on "April 27 or before" instead of April 23, Monday.

Grace tried some of those Gerber Puffs (banana flavored) and......she choked on it. Which scared me and Josh to death! I picked her up and beat her on the back...poor girl. It never came out so I am sure it dissolved pretty quickly. She just acted like nothing happened. We have decided to wait a little while longer before we try them again.

In other news...Josh has been working super hard at school and has been on the phone with 50,000 people trying to get this house business straight (and he is handling it like a pro if you ask me, I wouldn't have guessed that he is a first time home buyer!). He has 4 projects due by the end of next week and exams the next Tuesday and Thursday. I am sure he would really appreciate it if you would pray for him. It would be really easy for him to get stressed out...he is doing a really good job though! Not only is he doing all that but he makes sure he spends as much time with me and Grace as he can...and we love it! :)
I, on the other hand, have been packing most everything we own! I feel like I am really getting a lot done when I am working (which I guess I am) but it looks like I am just tearing up the house!
These are going to be a busy next couple of weeks but we are super excited about the things that are coming up!

Bloopers

Today was such a beautiful day so we decided to spend it at Mississippi State. We had talked about making it a point to walk 5 miles every Saturday...or at least once a week. Today was the first Saturday that we've done it but in the middle of our walk Josh had to finish part of one of his projects. So I finished the rest with Mags and Grace. After we got done I realized that I should be taking pictures on such a nice day...SO I took Maggie home and picked up my camera and a couple of outfits for Grace and headed back to campus. We had so much fun.....let me rephrase that....I had so much fun and we got some pretty cute pictures! :) I put some of them on facebook but I decided to put the "bloopers" on here. She is too funny.

She thinks her daddy is funny

I think she's figured out how to do "roar!"

Baby Cheer Camp.....it's pretty hardcore

"Call me"

Watching Daddy dance. "oh. my. gosh." No, I'm kidding :)

Castle is my new Smallville (this post has nothing to do with Castle or Smallville)

Wow, has Grace changed since my last post!  Let's see...
Well, to start off, Grace will be 7 months old on Sunday! I know....hard to believe. :o
I know that she was quite the "crybaby" last time some of you saw her but she is far from that now. (I hope she shows this next time you see her) She HAS learned that when she cries it gets attention but I am trying my hardest to prove her wrong...unless something is actually wrong, of course. example: When I leave the room she cries. BUT the amount of crying is getting shorter each time. Thank the Lord. Ok...so that doesn't make sense with what I said about her being far from the "crybaby"...I promise she is a sweetheart! She laughs all of the time and is starting to learn to get around a little......very little...... as Grandmoo puts it.."she is a content baby". I will choose to believe that over...lazy. I saw her roll from her back to her tummy for the first time today! I know that she has done it a few times but in my attempt to let her play alone more often, I have missed it every time until now. :) She WILL get up on her hands and knees some but hasn't quite figured out how to crawl yet. I stood her up by the coffee table yesterday (watching but not holding her) and she had a blast throwing everything she could reach to the floor! Her legs are definitely strong enough to stand, she just has very little balance.

We move to Clinton in less than a month!! (23 days to be exact) and we can hardly wait! We close on the house on the 23rd (11 days), Josh takes his last exam on May 3 (21 days), and we move on May 5th! Mom has agreed to help me paint (thank goodness!!!!) before we move in...I'm excited! We are only planning to paint 2 rooms (thank goodness from her, I'm sure). We are painting Grace's room (YES!!! GRACE WILL FINALLY HAVE HER OWN ROOM!!) brown and I am pretty set on painting the kitchen a really light blue. :) Also, Maggie doesn't know it yet but she is going to be an outside dog in Clinton. We love her...but we do not love her hair. I think we will all be pretty upset about it at first but I also think we will all get used to it pretty quick and she will probably love it out there! Starting this week, I have been working pretty hard on packing. I will not wait, like I did last time, and have to get people to help finish packing...on the day we move. Thanks again, everyone, by the way! :)

Grace still loves to eat and has had things like bananas, apples, pears, peas, zucchini, squash and sweet potatoes! Bananas are her favorite...we call her the banana queen...she even has a dance appropriately called The Banana Queen Dance. :)

Lastly, I am trying to lose more weight. I went through a time lately that I was hungry....all of the time! Then after I stopped being SO hungry I kept eating like I was..because I love it so much (wonder where Grace gets it) and since Josh has been so busy with school (I made that my excuse...not like I can't walk outside..which I have started to do again!) I couldn't go to the gym as much. Anyway...anyone have any motivating or just fun music I could add to my playlist to walk to? So far I have been doing really good with how much I am eating and exercising more..I am feeling better and am close to where I was. :)
